Ms. J Fowler - Voice, Piano
Known as “The Voice of an Angel,” Ms. J Fowler has been singing since the age of three. Her musical journey has been deeply inspired by her greatest influences: her mother, Claudette Fowler, and her father, the late Pastor Harry Fowler. Their love, guidance, and passion for music helped cultivate the gift that continues to shape her life and career.
Driven by her dedication to music, Ms. J earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Education, with an emphasis in Voice and Percussion, from Huston-Tillotson University. She later received a Master of Sacred Music in Vocal Performance from the University of St. Thomas.
Ms. J’s distinctive musical style, which beautifully blends classical technique with the soul and power of gospel music, has opened doors to extraordinary performance opportunities. Throughout her musical journey, she has shared the stage with the Austin Symphony, Grammy Award-winning artist Carmen Bradford, Donnie Ray Albert, Dr. Gloria Quinlan, Kathy Taylor, and many other outstanding musicians and artists.
Beyond the stage, Ms. J is deeply committed to education and mentorship. With eight years of teaching experience, she has dedicated herself to serving public school students and developing young musicians from elementary school through high school graduation. Through her work as a choir director and music educator, she inspires students to discover their voices, embrace their gifts, build confidence, and recognize the transformative power of music.
Ms. J believes that music education should extend beyond learning to sing. Her mission is to develop well-rounded musicians who understand and appreciate the many dimensions of music, from classical and gospel to contemporary and other musical traditions. She encourages her students to explore their full potential, embrace opportunities beyond their comfort zones, and never limit themselves to a single genre, style, or stage.
For Ms. J, music is more than a talent or profession; it is a calling. Whether performing before an audience or standing in front of a classroom, she strives to use her God-given gifts to inspire others, uplift communities, and help the next generation discover the power of their own voices.
Her purpose is simple: to share her gift, cultivate excellence, and empower others to use their voices to bring light to the world.
Ms. J teaches at our Bellaire studio on Saturdays.
