Mimi Ijir - Voice, Piano

Mimi is a passionate multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and music producer. Her love of singing started before she learned to talk! Mimi received formal piano training from ages 8-14. Since then she has largely been self-taught, picking up flute, guitar, ukulele, piccolo, and hand percussion.

After attending Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee for a BBA in Music Business with a Music Minor in Voice. Mimi has worked in various sectors of the industry; marketing, management, recording studios, and more. She’s sung in various choirs, played in bands, and has also performed her original music around the country and abroad.

For almost a decade, Mimi has been sharing her love of music with learners of all ages as a private lessons instructor and with young learners as an elementary Music and Spanish teacher. She focuses on bridging the gap between formal classical training, music theory, ear training, and modern commercial styles of playing while keeping each lesson fun and engaging.

Mimi is at our Bellaire studio on Mondays and Tuesdays.
