Jonathan Andino - Violin, Viola, and Piano

Mr. Jonathan is a violinist based in Houston, Texas, recognized for his extensive orchestral experience, dedication to musical excellence, and commitment to music education. He currently serves as Assistant Concertmaster of the Symphony of Southeast Texas, where he is a core member of the First Violin section.

Mr. Jonathan began his musical studies at a music conservatory in his hometown of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he graduated as one of the institution’s top string players. Soon after, he began his professional career as a chamber musician with the San Pedro Sula Chamber Orchestra.

Throughout his career, Mr. Jonathan has performed with several orchestras, including the South Arkansas Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Rapides Symphony, Monroe Symphony, Texarkana Symphony, and Symphony of Southeast Texas. His orchestral experience has been complemented by performances and collaborations throughout the Houston area with organizations such as Music for Food, Opera Hispanica, Houston Repertoire Ballet, and Houston Ballet Academy, Aperio, among others.

Mr. Jonathan has received recognition in several competitions throughout his career. In 2013, he earned First Place in his first competition, organized by the German-Honduran Society, marking an important milestone in his musical development. In 2017, he earned First Place in both the Rapides Symphony Competition and the NSU Concerto Competition. The following year, he was a national finalist in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) competition.

His artistic development has also included master classes with distinguished musicians, including members of the Duisburg Symphony in Germany, Mauricio Fuka, Jose Aurelio Castillo, and MuChen Hsieh, among otherse.

Alongside his performing career, Mr. Jonathan is deeply committed to music education. He has dedicated significant time to refining his skills as a performer while developing effective teaching techniques to share his knowledge with students of all ages. He holds an undergraduate degree in music performance from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, as well as a master’s degree and a Certificate in Music Performance from the University of Houston.

Mr. Jonathan teaches at our Meyerland studio on Mondays and Fridays.

Students will be able to use the full capabilities of a piano including dynamics, pedaling, musical phrasing, and dramatic interpretation. Students will be able to participate in seasonal recitals at one of Houston’s many venues. Recitals, included in their tuition, display each student’s personal achievements in their instrument. Our students have the option to perform piano, guitar, violin, viola, voice/singing, cello, and drums!
