Vu Pham - Violin, Viola, Piano

Born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Hoang Vu Pham began playing the violin at the age of ten under the guidance of his violinist father, and received a Bachelor of Music Performance as a student of Vu Thanh Pham at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. Vu completed both a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston as a student of Kirsten Yon. He also worked closely throughout his music education degree with Traci Patterson, Angela Peugnet, and Erin Hansen.

Vu has performed in masterclasses for distinguished violinists Lin He, Felix Olschoofka, Jasmine Lin, and David Bernat, and has performed with the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra, Texas Music Festival Orchestra, and in collaboration with the Formosa Quartet. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance at the Moores School of Music as a student of Mann-Wen Lo and Boson Mo. After completing his degree, Vu plans to pursue a career as a violinist who teaches and performs music as a string fellow in symphony orchestras and as a conductor.

Vu has been teaching violin since 2017 and has experience working with students of all ages, from elementary school to high school, as well as adults. He offers both one-on-one and group lessons, personalizing his teaching style to meet the individual needs of each student. In the violin lesson class, Vu not only helps students develop their violin techniques but also focuses on developing students’ sense of respect, responsibility, discipline, and self-awareness. Vu’s lesson plans also develop a proper level of musicianship for students through music theory, including reading and comprehension of music and listening skills. The most important key in Vu’s lesson is to guide students to find the excitement, love, and beauty in music.

Mr. Vu teaches at our Bellaire studio on Fridays.
